Baroka FC will chase another major scalp in the Absa Premiership when they host Mamelodi Sundowns at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on 20 April 2019, kick-off at 15h00.
Baroka claimed their fifth win of the season when they defeated Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 away from home on April 6, thanks to a fine strike from Tshidiso Patjie.
Bakgaga have claimed just nine points from 12 home matches this season, with their last result as hosts a 1-0 loss to Golden Arrows in mid-March before the international break.
Sundowns suffered just their third loss of the league season when they were beaten 2-0 at home by Tshwane rivals SuperSport United on April 17.
The Brazilians have claimed 25 points from 12 away matches this season, with their last result on the road a goalless stalemate at Orlando Pirates in early April.
In head-to-head stats, Sundowns and Baroka have met in five league matches since the 2016/17 season. The Brazilians boast an unbeaten record in the rivalry, with three wins and two draws. The Limpopo club’s two home matches have both ended in defeats.
When the teams met earlier this season, at Lucas Moripe Stadium in December 2018, they played out a goalless stalemate. It was the first 0-0 score line between Sundowns and Baroka.
Baroka’s line-up from their 1-0 win over Chiefs on April 6: Chipezeze, Semenya, Ntswane, Sibiya, Gebhardt, Patjie, Chinyengetere, Mosele, Mabeba (Mongae 76’), Makgantai (Makume 87’), Makgaka (Mdantsane 62’).
