Alex Iwobi, 22, has expressed his desire to replicate his uncle Austin 'Jay-Jay' Okocha's success, by winning the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria at what will be the winger's first attempt.

The Super Eagles head to Egypt later this year, having missed the last two continental tournaments.

Nigeria are three-time champions of the competition, having won the tournament when they last qualified, back in 2013 on South African soil.

Okocha was part of the 1994 winning team in Tunisia, at what was his maiden appearance at the finals, and Iwobi hopes to follow in his uncle's footsteps by lifting the title in Cairo on 19 July.

"I've seen some of his highlights from 1994 and it would be cool to achieve that as well," Iwobi told BBC Sport.

"I'm excited, I have always dreamt of participating and representing my country at the African Cup of Nations, but it won't be easy for us in Egypt

"Both dreams are coming true, hopefully I can get to play in Egypt."

The Arsenal star on Thursday helped the Gunners into the semi-finals of this season's Europa League where they will face Valencia for a place in the final.
