Ivorian legend Yaya Toure says he is not planning on retiring just yet, despite having been without a club since December last year.

The 35-year-old was last on the books of Greek top flight side Olympiacos, but left the club in December 2018 after the parties mutually agreed to cancel their contract.

Toure, whose club career has seen him represent top European clubs such as Monaco, Barcelona and Manchester City, insists he still wants to continue, and is looking at the possibility of playing in the United States, Middle East or Asia from the 2019/20 season.

"No one will stop me playing football," he told Canal+. "I just decided to take the time for myself. It is not yet time for retirement and I think I can still play two to three years.

"Why not in the United States, or in the Gulf or in Asia? I will take the time to think and see what I decide next season."

Toure also made over 100 appearances for the Ivorian national team, winning the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, as well as appearing at three World Cups from 2006 to 2014.
