Cape Town City will look to return to winning form in the Absa Premiership when they host Highlands Park at Cape Town Stadium on 23 April 2019, kick-off at 19h30.

City come into the game on the back of a 1-0 loss away to Golden Arrows on April 6. It was the second scoreless result for the Cape side, who were held 0-0 at home by Polokwane City in mid-March. Their match at Bloemfontein Celtic on April 14 was abandoned due to fan violence.

The Citizens have claimed 25 points from 13 home matches this season, recording seven wins, four draws and two defeats.

Highlands extended their unbeaten run to four matches with a 1-1 draw at home to Free State Stars on April 17, with forward Peter Shalulile scoring for the second game in succession.

The Lions of the North have claimed just 11 points from 13 away matches this season, with their last result on the road a 1-1 draw at Chippa United in mid-March.

In head-to-head stats, City and Highlands have met in three previous top-flight matches. Each side has claimed one win, while one game ended in a draw. The Citizens’ only previous home match ended in a 3-0 win in February 2017.

When the teams met earlier this season, at the Makhulong Stadium in December 2018, Highlands claimed a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Peter Shalulile and Tendai Ndoro.

City’s line-up from their 1-0 loss to Arrows on April 6: Leeuwenburgh, Mkhize, Fielies, Cupido, Edmilson (Seedat 76’), David (Ralani 69’), Mokeke, Kewuti, Erasmus (Roberts 76’), Links, Mthembu.

Highlands’ line-up from their 1-1 draw with Stars on April 17: Heugh, L. Mokoena, Fransman, Motsepe, Ramoraka, Mahlangu, Rae, Shongwe (Mogaila 46’), Nyembe (Mbatha 78’), Mvala, Shalulile.
