Former England striker Gary Lineker has backed the referee's decision to award Liverpool a penalty, following a foul on Mohamed Salah this past weekend.
Cardiff City head coach Neil Warnock compared Salah to Olympic diver Tom Daley following the Reds 2-0 win over the Welsh club on Sunday.
Linker, though, believes the match official was right to blow for a foul on the Egypt international following a coming together with Sean Morrison inside the penalty area.
He tweeted: “It was a penalty for me. Can’t really see how you could think otherwise…..but you will, of course.”
James Milner duly converted from the spot as Liverpool climbed back to the top of the English Premier League standings.
