Kaizer Chiefs and Lamontville Golden Arrows drew 1-1 in an Absa Premiership match at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday night.
As a result, Amakhosi and Abafana Bes'thende remain seventh, and ninth respectively on the league table.
Amakhosi dominated ball possession in the opening stages of the encounter as they looked to take an early lead.
Chiefs were handed a golden opportunity to take the lead just before the half-hour mark when the ball fell kindly for Hendrick Eksteon.
However, the 28-year-old attacking midfielder fired over the crossbar from 12-yards as Arrows survived a scare.
This served as a real walk-up call for the visitors, who then broke the deadlock through Nduduzi Sibiya in the 33rd minute.
The creative attacker scored with a beautiful curling effort to make it 1-0 to Arrows after being brilliantly set-up by Sanele Mthenjwa.
Arrows were leading 1-0 at the interval after containing Chiefs, who were unable to level matters in the first-half.
Chiefs began the second-half brightly and they were unlucky not to restore parity through defenders Daniel Cardoso and Kgotso Moleko.
Cardoso hit the woodwork before Moleko's effort cannoned off the frame of the goal three minutes after the restart.
Amakhosi coach Ernst Middendorp made a double substitution with less than 16 minutes left - introducing Joseph Molangoane and George Maluleka.
Maluleka made an immediate impact as his corner-kick was headed home by Moleko to make it 1-1 with 13 minutes left much to the delight of the home crowd.
Chiefs then pushed for a late winning goal, but the Arrows defence stood firm and ultimately, the match ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
