Craig Martin scored a late goal as Cape Town City held Highlands Park to a 1-1 draw at Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Kermit Erasmus received his marching orders in the 18th minute of the clash following an off-the-ball incident. The forward kicked Lions of the North midfielder Mothobi Mvala right in front of the match official, leaving the referee with little choice but to brandish the red card.
The visitors duly hit the front in the 55th minute through former Ajax Cape Town forward Tendai Ndoro. The Zimbabwean marksman rising off the bench to great effect to fire the visitors ahead following a defensive mistake.
The Citizens, though, would conjure a point despite playing with 10-men for most of the encounter as Craig Martin nodded home six minutes from time.
For City, the point moves them above Polokwane City and into fifth place on goal difference while Highlands remain in eighth on the log standings.
