Mamelodi Sundowns defender Tebogo Langerman reserved special praise for teammate Kennedy Mweene following the club's 3-2 win over Chippa United in Tshwane on Tuesday afternoon.
Mweene pulled off a superb save to keep out Lerato Manzini's low effort in second-half stoppage time as Sundowns successfully held on for a narrow victory.
As a result, Sundowns climbed level on points with Absa Premiership log leaders Orlando Pirates who are in action away to Maritzburg United this evening.
"That was a great by Kennedy. I mean we needed him. We’ve been doing the job, so this time he can do the job for us,” Langerman told SuperSport TV following the clash.
He added: "First I would like to thank the supporters for coming in numbers, especially on a Tuesday. It was a good game for both teams. Chippa fought and at least we managed to hold on for the three points.
“Hlompho [Kekana], the captain, always leads by example and he managed to get us back into the game.”
Sundowns jetted off straight to Morocco following the match ahead of their Caf Champions League tie away to Wydad Casablanca on Friday evening.
