Golden Arrows will chase all three Absa Premiership points when they host Free State Stars at Princess Magogo Stadium on 28 April 2019, kick-off at 15h00.
Arrows played to a second successive league draw when they held Kaizer Chiefs 1-1 away from home on April 23. The Durban side has put together a four-game unbeaten streak in the Premiership.
Abafana Bes’thende have claimed 18 points from 13 home matches this season, with their last result as hosts a 1-1 draw with AmaZulu in mid-April.
Stars also racked up a second successive league draw when they were held 2-2 at home by Baroka FC on April 24. The Free State side led twice in the match and will feel they missed out on a great chance to secure three vital points in their battle against relegation.
Ea Lla Koto have claimed just nine points from 13 away matches this season, with their last result on the road a 1-1 draw at Highlands Park in mid-April.
In head-to-head stats, Stars and Arrows have met in 27 league matches since 2000/01. Ea Lla Koto have claimed 10 wins compared to seven for Abafana Bes’thende, while 10 matches have been draws. The Durban side has won five of their 13 home league matches against the Free State club, suffering three defeats in the process.
When the teams met earlier this season, at Goble Park in October 2018, they played out a 1-1 draw: Nkanyiso Cele opened the scoring for Arrows, while Judas Moseamedi equalised for Stars. Ea Lla Koto are unbeaten in their last four league matches against Abafana Bes’thende.
Arrows’ line-up from their 1-1 draw with Chiefs on April 23: Mbaeva, Sibisi, Bilankulu, Mzava, Lunga, Conco (Sibeko 78'), Zuke (Lamola 88'), Phiri, Sibiya, Mathenjwa (Dube 79'), Mutizwa.
Stars’ line-up from their 2-2 draw with Baroka on April 24: Mbambo, Mobbie, Mahamutsa, Mathumo, Khabane (Kizza 52’), Jappie, Masehe, Makhaula, Hlubi (Dlamini 64’), Tchilimbou (Mokhuoane 76’), Rodgers.
