Baroka FC eased their relegation worries with a 1-0 Absa Premiership win over AmaZulu FC at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Sunday afternoon.
Tshediso Patjie scored the only goal of the game with six minutes of regulation time remaining to move the Limpopo club up to 12th place on the log standings and four points clear of the relegation zone with two games to go.
AmaZulu remain in 11th following the defeat, two points above Bakgaga.
Usuthu started the game the better of the two teams, but Baroka would create the best chance in the first half as Mduduzi Mdantsane raced clear on goal only to be denied by Siyabonga Mbatha in the 39th minute.
The game opened up following the interval as both teams went in search of the winner which Patjie would duly find in the 84th minute.
The winger doing what his captain failed to do as he rounded Mbatha before striking home to secure all three points for the hosts.
