Cape Town City will look to halt Orlando Pirates’ Absa Premiership title charge when the teams meet at Athlone Stadium on 4 May 2019, kick-off at 15h00.
City – who still have a mathematical chance of winning the league championship – racked up their 13th win of the season by defeating Chippa United 2-0 away on April 26.
The Citizens have claimed 29 points from 14 home matches this season, with their last result as hosts a 1-1 draw with Highlands Park on April 23.
Pirates claimed a fourth successive league win when they defeated Maritzburg United 1-0 away from home on April 24. The Soweto side is also unbeaten in their last eight league outings.
The Buccaneers have claimed 28 points from 14 away matches this season, and they have lost just once on the road since the turn of the year.
In head-to-head stats, Pirates and City have met in five league matches since 2016/17. The teams have a dead-even record, with one win apiece, three draws and five goals both scored and conceded.
When the teams met earlier this season, at Orlando Stadium in September 2018, City came from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw, with Ayanda Patosi scoring a second-half brace for the Cape side.
City’s line-up from their 2-0 win over Chippa on April 26: Leeuwenburgh, Seedat, Cupido, Feiles, Mkhize, Mokeke, Kewuti, Modise (Roberts 75'), Ralani (Links 46'), Martin, Mthembu (Dove 87').
Pirates’ line-up from their 1-0 win over Maritzburg on April 24: Sandilands, Dube, Jele, Munetsi, Maela, Lorch, Motshwari, Nyatama, Memela (Qalinge 90+3’), Pule (Ndengane 77’), Shonga (Mulenga 85’).
