Bidvest Wits will face a relegation-threatened Baroka FC in an Absa Premiership clash at Bidvest Stadium on 4 May 2019, kick-off at 15h00.

Wits missed out on a third successive win when they were held 1-1 away to 10-man SuperSport United on April 27, though the Johannesburg side had a legitimate goal disallowed by the match officials.

The Clever Boys have claimed 20 points from 14 home matches this season, with their last result as hosts a 3-1 win over Black Leopards on April 24.

Baroka gave their survival hopes a major boost when they defeated AmaZulu 1-0 at home on April 28. The result took them four points clear of the relegation playoff berth.

Bakgaga have claimed 16 points from 14 away matches this season, with their last result on the road a 2-2 draw at Free State Stars on April 24.

In head-to-head stats, Baroka ad Wits have met in five league matches since the 2016/17 season. The Clever Boys boast an unbeaten record, with four wins and one draw from the quartet of games. The Johannesburg side has recorded one win and one draw from two home matches in the rivalry.

When the teams met earlier this season, at Peter Mokaba Stadium in December 2018, Wits claimed a 2-1 away win thanks to goals from Lehlohonolo Majoro and Deon Hotto.

Wits’ line-up from their 1-1 draw with SuperSport on April 27: Goss, Mere, Johannes, Mkhwanazi, Nonyane, Domingo (Dzvukamanja 67’), Alexander, Monare, Hlanti, Mhango (Motupa 72’), Murray (Pelembe 84’).

Baroka’s line-up from their 1-0 win over AmaZulu on April 28: Chipezeze, Semenya, Ntswane, Sibiya, Gebhardt, Patjie, Madigoe (Madubanya 90+3’), Makume, Makgaka, Mdantsane, Makgantai (Dickens 83’).
