Berkane eye first-leg advantage against Zamalek

RS Berkane will take on Zamalek in the 2018/19 CAF Confederation Cup final first-leg clash on Monday.

Kick-off is at 12:00 am CAT.

The encounter is scheduled to be played at the Stade Municipal de Berkane in the Moroccan city of Berkane.

The Moroccan side advanced to the final after defeating Tunisia's CS Sfaxien 3-2 on aggregate in the semi-finals.

Berkane will be making their maiden appearance in a continental final and they are hoping to win their CAF title.

Local tactician Mounir Jaouani is looking to become the first Berkane coach to win the Confederation Cup.

Meanwhile, Zamalek progressed to the final after defeating Tunisian giants Etoile du Sahel 1-0 on aggregate in the semi-finals.

The Egyptian football powerhouse are desperate to win their 10th continental title having clinched five CAF Champions League titles.

Swiss trainer Christian Gross is keen to become the first Zamalek coach to win the Confederation Cup.

Zambian referee Janny Sikazwe will officiate the first-leg encounter between Berkane and Zamalek.

The second-leg match will be played in Egypt at the Borg El Arab Stadium on May 26.
