Maritzburg United moved up to six points on the Absa Premiership/ National First Division promotion-relegation playoffs log following a 2-0 win over Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila at Thohoyandou Stadium on Wednesday.
Following a narrow win over Royal Eagles this past weekend, the Team of Choice moved a step closer to retaining their top-flight status with a hard fought win in the Limpopo province.
After a first half dominated by Maritzburg, the second was a more equally contested affair before Judas Moseamedi provided the desired spark off the bench to give the visitors the edge.
The forward built on his good form, nodding home a floating cross by Deolin Mekoa in the 67th minute to give Maritzburg a deserved lead.
Maritzburg made sure of the result in the 82nd minute as Bongokuhle Hlongwane beat the offside trap before firing past the TTM goalkeeper to wrap up all three points.
