Mali midfielder Yves Bissouma has been ruled out of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt with a shoulder injury.
The 22-year-old, who has scored three goals in 14 appearances for the Eagles, is set to undergo surgery that could reportedly see him miss the start of the 2019/20 English Premier League season.
The Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder enjoyed a superb debut season at the club after the joining the Seagulls from French Ligue 1 outfit Lille, making 34 appearances across all competitions.
According to the club, Bissouma felt discomfort in his shoulder towards the end of the season and it has now been revealed that he will go under the knife to repair the problem.
Mali were drawn in a Group E alongside Mauritania, Tunisia and Angola.
