Tunisia international Ferjani Sassi will be available for the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Egypt.
This is according to the Tunisian national team’s doctor Suhail Al-Shamli, who discussed the Zamalek attacking midfielder's injury.
Sassi fractured a foot bone in Apri 2019 while in action for Egyptian giants Zamalek and he looks set to compete at the prestigious continental tournament.
"Ferjani Sassi completed his recovery and rehab programmes and is now fit to participate in the games,” Al-Shamli told an Egyptian television programme.
"Sassi participated normally in the national team's trainings as he is prepared physically and technically for the games.
"The decision of calling up Sassi to Tunisia's squad will be in the hands of team's manager, but he is medically fit," he concluded.
The Carthage Eagles are hoping to win the AFCON title for the first time since 2004.
Tunisia are in Group E alongside Mali, Mauritania and Angola.
Egypt will host the competition from 21 June to 19 July.
