Mali will face Mauritania in their first 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Group E match on Monday.
Kick-off is at 22h00 CAT.
The match is set to be played at the Suez Stadium in the Egyptian city of Suez.
The Eagles are making their 11th appearance in the AFCON finals after winning their qualifying group earlier this year.
Their star player is FC Porto striker Moussa Marega, who is coming off a good season with the Portuguese giants.
Mali head coach Mohamed Magassouba will be eager to guide the Eagles to victory over tournament debutants, Mauritania.
Meanwhile, Mauritania are making their debut appearance in the AFCON finals having finished second in their qualifying group.
The Lions of Chinguetti's key player is Spain-based midfielder, Hacen El Ide, who is currently on the books of Real Valladolid.
Mauritania head coach Corentin Martins will be hoping to mastermind a historic victory over Mali in the team's opening match.
This will be the 31st clash between Mali and Mauritania.
The Eagles have registered 18 victories against the Lions of Chinguetti, who have recorded five wins, while seven games ended in a draw.
