Morocco international Nordin Amrabat was pleased with his team-mates' performance against Ivory Coast on Friday night.

The Atlas Lions recorded their second successive win at the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Egypt.

The North African giants' 1-0 victory over the Elephants saw Morocco secure their place in the round of 16.

Saudi Arabia-based midfielder Amrabat reflected on the game after collecting his Man of the Match accolade.

"Cote d’Ivoire is a very good team and they gave us hard times," Amrabat said.

"We missed many chances and managed to score once.

"I’m proud of my team and supporters. We have six points and look forward to moving on in the same pattern."

The Atlas Lions will now take on South Africa in their last Group D match on Monday.

Morocco are hoping to go all the way and clinch their second AFCON title this year.
