The Egyptian club have officially announced the appointment of the former Uganda head coach, Sébastien Desabre, days after the Cranes 2019 Africa Cup of Nations exit.
Desabre was heavily linked with the Al Ahly post over the last week, but has decided to join rivals Pyramids FC instead.
The Frenchman replaces Ramon Diaz at the helm, duly becoming the club's fifth different head coach in in just over a year. Alberto Valentim, Ricardo La Volpe and Hossam Hassan have all occupied the Pyramids hot-seat over the last 12 months.
Desabre officially parted company with the Ugandan FA on Sunday, two days after the East African's loss to Senegal in the Round of 16.
The 42-year-old returns to Egypt having previously served as the head coach of Ismaily where he oversaw 18 games before taking over the reins from Milutin Sredojević in Uganda.
