Alex Iwobi insists that Nigeria still have something to play for when they take on Tunisia in the 3rd place play-off fixture on Wednesday evening.
The Super Eagles will come up against the Eagles of Carthage at Al Salam Stadium in Cairo this evening with the hope of ending their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on a high.
Nigeria missed out on place in the tournament final following a 2-1 loss to Algeria on Sunday, while Tunisia were confined to battling for bronze after going down 1-0 to Senegal in the other semi-final fixture.
While most would excuse both teams if they weren't to take the fixture seriously, Arsenal's Iwobi remains fully focussed on ending their campaign with victory in the Egyptian capital.
“We have one last game and we’ll try to win it," said Iwobi.
"Yes we didn’t reach the final but playing for the third place is also great. I believe that I delivered a great performance and it’s not over yet. The rest of the players know that we still have a chance to go back home with our heads lifted."
