Confederation of African Football (CAF) president Ahmad Ahmad has lauded Egypt for hosting a wonderful Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.


The football administrator explained how the North African country made a great effort to earn such success.


”Before the tournament, I had many fears concerning the security and refereeing, but the competition went without any problems,” Ahmad said on Ahram Online.


“Many thanks to Egypt for its Wonderful hosting of the competition and for their huge efforts to secure the competition.


“They made a great effort to organize and to secure this expanded edition of the AFCON. Thanks to president Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi for this wonderful hosting,” he added.


Ahmad went on to disclose that AFCON finals brought $83 million in revenues.


“The 2019 edition brought us $83 million in revenues, while the 2017 revenues were $ 67 million. This success reveals that we are on the right track,” he concluded.
