Turkish Super Lig club Yeni Malatyaspor have signed Tunisian international Ghaylene Chaalali from Tunis giants Esperance.
Chaalali was a member of the Carthage Eagles team which reached the semifinals of the recently-concluded Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The 25-year-old midfielder had been a player for the ‘Blood and Gold’ since an early stage of his career. He was active with the U-23 side before earning promotion to the senior team in 2014.
“Chaalali was a player we have been watching for a long time. We signed a three-year contract in line with our coach’s recommendation,” Malatyaspor director Mehmet Gömülü said.
“We believe that we are a strong team with the reinforcements we have made to our existing team. Hopefully we will have a great season,” he added.
Malatyapsor finished fifth in last season’s Super Lig. They are coached by Sergin Yalcin and already feature several African players on their roster, including Seth Sincere (Nigeria), Issam Chebake (Morocco) and Thievy Biffouma (Congo Brazzaville).
