According to reports in Egypt, Pharaohs international Mahmoud Hassan ‘Trezeguet’ has signed for newly-promoted Premier League club Aston Villa.

KingFut reports that Trezeguet has signed on the dotted line and will be unveiled as a Villan on Wednesday or Thursday.

The 24-year-old forward has enjoyed two fine seasons with Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super Lig, where he racked up 25 goals and 18 assists in 71 matches.

He was also a key figure in Egypt’s squad at the recently-completed 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, though their campaigned ended prematurely when they were eliminated by South Africa in the last 16.

Trezeguet will become Villa’s ninth off-season signing following their return to the Premier League, and see him link up with compatriot Ahmed Elmohamdy, who will be enjoying his third season with the Birmingham side.

The club is also currently owned by the NSWE group, a company owned by the Egyptian billionaire Nassef Sawiris and the American billionaire Wes Edens.

Trezeguet is set to become the 12th Egyptian to play in the Premier League after Ahmed Hossam Mido, Ahmed Fathi, Hossam Ghaly, Mohamed Shawky, Amr Zaki, Ahmed Elmohamady, Gedo, Mohamed Salah, Mohamed Elneny, Ahmed Hegazi, and Ramadan Sobhi.
