South Africa have been forced to make changes to the team that will take on Lesotho in the 2020 African Nations Championships (CHAN) qualifier on Sunday in Maseru.
Injuries and club commitments have forced South Africa’s CHAN team coach David Notoane to adjust his squad which trained at Nike Centre on Thursday.
The CHAN team will travel to Maseru on Friday and will train in the afternoon in the Lesotho capital before winding up the training schedule on Saturday at the match venue.
South Africa and Lesotho clash in the first round at Setsoto Stadium on Sunday at 14h00 with the return leg scheduled for 4 August in Johannesburg.
Some of the players initially selected but had to drop out due to injuries or availability are goalkeeper Mondli Mpoto, defenders Thendo Mukumela, Sibusiso Mabiliso, Reeve Frosler and Justice Tshabalala.
Also dropping out from the first leg assignment are midfielders Goodman Mosele, Grant Margeman, Zukile Kewuti and Lerato Lepasa.
