Ivory Coast international Eric Bertrand Bailly has suffered a fresh injury setback.
The 25-year-old missed the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt due to injury and had only just returned from a three-month layoff before twisting his knee in Shanghai last week.
Bailly was forced from the field in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur and early reports suggest that the centre back will be out until the end of the year.
The former Villarreal defender started a mere eight English Premier League games for the Red Devils last season in a disappointing campaign.
In total, he has scored one goal in 74 appearances across all competitions for United since moving to Old Trafford from Spain three years ago.
Bailly was part of the Elephants squad that won the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
