Egypt president Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has announced that the next Pharaohs head coach will not be a foreign manager.

The state leader explained that it is important to give local coaches a chance to prove themselves.

This comes after Egypt were booted out of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in the Round of 16 and Mexican coach Javier Aguirre was fired.

Top Egyptian coaches Hassan Shehata and Hossam El-Badry were recently linked to the Pharaohs coaching job.

“The Youth and Sports Minister confirmed to me that the next coach will be Egyptian,” El-Sisi said on King Fut.

“We got to give the Egyptian manager the chance since the result is the same.

“Any sector in the country has to attract experts and needs dedication at work,” he added.

“How come Egypt don’t have 1000 good player? Where is the Egyptian women’s team? We have to prepare strong teams for both genders.”
