Botswana have travelled to Zambia without their first-choice goalkeeper Keagile Kgospula.

The Zebras travelled to Lusaka for the return leg of the second-round 2020 African Nations Championship qualifier.

The Botswana Football Association (BFA) revealed that Township Rollers absconded from the team without giving any reason for his absence.

The BFA released the following statement ahead of the encounter:

A statement read: “The team travelled without goalkeeper Keagile Kgosipula.”

“The goalkeeper has absconded from the team without having given any reason for absence.”

“The association has informed his club Township Rollers and are working together to investigate the matter.”

“The Zebras management are also helping with what will have led to the sudden strange behaviour of the normally calm and quiet player.”

The first-leg encounter between Botswana and Zambia ended in a goalless statement last weekend.
