Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says his team must continue playing attractive and stylish football if they are to keep bringing in big crowds.
The Brazilians enjoyed an excellent attendance when they opened the defence of their Absa Premiership title with a match at home to Tshwane derby rivals SuperSport United earlier this month.
In order to keep patrons coming through the turnstiles at either the Lucas Moripe Stadium or Loftus Versfeld, ‘Jingles’ believes his team needs to keep playing football that both brings positive results and is enjoyable for supporters.
“What makes a product to be wanted?” said Mosimane ahead of his team’s league clash against Chippa United on Wednesday evening.
“The product must be good, it must be a product that you can sell and market.
“So our job is to make sure that our product, which is Sundowns Football Club, to be that product that people should want.
“If you don’t play well, people won’t come. You know South Africans, people won’t come.
“Especially the Sundowns supporters. They don’t just want to win, they want to win good.
“So my job is to make sure the product is right and that we can sell and market it. If that is right, I think the stadiums will get there.
“I’m also saying to the people doing marketing at Sundowns, this is an international product, so we need to do more to sell this product.”
