Nigeria international Alex Iwobi is excited by the new challenge that awaits him this season, following his move to Everton on transfer deadline day.
Iwobi joined the Toffees from English Premier League rivals Arsenal last week, ending his 15-year association with the North London club.
Having broken into the Gunners first team in 2015, Iwobi would go on to score 15 goals in 149 appearances for the club. The 23-year-old will team up with Brazil’s Richarlison at Goodison Park and he hopes to take his game to the next level, much like the winger has done over the last 12 months.
“It is exciting times,” Iwobi told Everton TV “I was able to look at the players they have brought in; some great talent coming in and quality players already here.
“I’m excited for the challenge ahead.
“Since I’ve been here, I’ve been able to see how much of a family everyone is and how they’ve welcomed each new player.
“So I can see why Richarlison was able to do well and settle so quickly, so hopefully it’ll be the same for me,” he concluded.
