Former African Footballer koi the Year Emmanuel Adebayor is to continue his career at the age of 35 by joining Turkish club Kayserispor after three seasons with Istanbul Basaksehir.
The Togo international had been being released by Turkish league runners-up at the end of last season but has now agreed a one-year deal with Kayserispor, who finished 10th in last season’s Super Lig.
Adebayor underwent a medical on Monday morning before signing. He had been linked with a move to Iranian club Tractor SC earlier this month but eventually nothing came of it.
Earlier this week, the Togo skipper was again left out of his country’s squad for next week’s 2022 World Cup qualifiers against the Comoros Islamnds, signalling the end of his international career
He spent 11 seasons in the Premier League with Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace.
Adebayor has previously had a stint on loan to Real Madrid, and began his career in France with Metz and Monaco.
