Two 2019/20 Absa Premiership games were played on Tuesday night with Kaizer Chiefs and Highlands Park recording wins.

Chiefs maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a victory over Cape Town City in the Mother City.

The Citizens opened the scoring three minutes into the game through Kermit Erasmus to make it 1-0 to City.

The hosts then stood firm at the back and they were leading 1-0 at the half-time break.

Chiefs came back oozing with confidence after the restart and they grabbed two late goals as their pressure paid off.

Daniel Cardoso levelled matters before Kearyn Baccus sealed Chiefs’ 2-1 victory and they remained at the top of the league standings.

Meanwhile, Highlands Park secured their first win of the season when they overcame a winless AmaZulu FC side in Johannesburg.

Bonginkosi Ntuli handed AmaZulu the lead after some good work by Ovidy Karuru just before the half-time break.

However, Tendai Ndoro restored parity from the spot-kick to make it 1-1 after Highlands Park were awarded a penalty on the stroke of half-time.

Both teams launched attacks after the restart and it was the hosts, who grabbed the winning through Peter Shalulile to seal Highlands Park’s 2-1 victory.
