Orlando Pirates winless run continued as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Golden Arrows in Wednesday evening’s Absa Premiership action.

A total of six games took place simultaneously across South Africa, including the Buccaneers clash at home to Arrows in Soweto.

It would prove to be another frustrating night for last season’s runners-up as their run without a goal in domestic competitions passed the six-hour mark. Pirates now trail log leaders and fierce rivals Kaizer Chiefs by five points after four rounds of fixtures.

Elsewhere, both defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns and Tshwane rivals SuperSport United recorded away wins to move up to third and fourth on the log standings respectively.

Mosa Lebusa and Themba Zwane scored again for the Brazilians while the in-form Bradely Grobler scored for the third game running.

Bidvest Wits moved up to second on the log standings, a point behind Chiefs thanks to a late winner from Gift Motupa in Braamfontein while Maritzburg United’s poor start to the season continued as they lost at home to Black Leopards.

Chippa United also remain winless this season, following a goalless draw at home to an ever-improving Polokwane City.
