Nigeria international Vicor Osimhen was simply unstoppable in one of the two French Ligue matches which were played on Wednesday night
The 20-year-old striker was introduced in the 19th minute and he went on to score an impressive brace which inspired Lille OSC to a 3-0 victory over Saint Etienne.
Osimhen has now scored four goals in three league matches and he will be looking to maintain his scoring form in the upcoming matches.
His team Jonathan Bamba, who is of Ivorian descent, was also on the scoresheet for Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
Meanwhile, Guinea international Bouna Sarr helped Olympique Marseille secure a 2-1 win over OGC Nice on the night.
The winger was substituted in the 89th minute, while his teammate Saîf-Eddine Khaoui of Tunisia was an unused substitute.
Cameroonian forward Ignatius Ganago played the entire match for Nice, but he could not help his side avoid a defeat at the Allianz Riviera.
Wylan Cyprien, who is of Ivorian descent, netted Nice’s consolation goal.
