Gervinho scores as Ivorians shine in Serie A

Ivorian frontman Christian Kouame continued his scoring form in the 2019/20 Italian Serie A on Sunday.


The 21-year-old player scored his second goal of the season as Genoa defeated Ghanaian forward Kevin-Prince Boateng’s Fiorentina 2-1 at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.


His countryman Gervinho was also on the scoresheet as his side Parma defeated Udinese 3-1 at the Stadio Friuli.


Angolan defender Bastos and Guinean midfield maestro Amadou Diawara featured in a match between Lazio, and AS Roma.


The two players came on as substitutes during the Derby della Capitale which ended in a 1-1 stalemate at the Stadio Olimpico.


At the Gewiss Stadium, Ivorian defender Koffi Djidji and Nigerian full-back Ola Aina helped Torino secure an away victory.


The duo played the entire match as Torino edged out Atalanta 3-2 in a thrilling encounter.


Ghanaian defender-cum-midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah was also on the winning side at the Sardegna Arena.


The experienced player played the encounter as his side Inter Milan secured a 2-1 win over Cagliari.


Lastly, Ivorian midfielder Hamed Traore scored as his side Sassuolo thumped Sampdoria 4-1 at the Mapei Stadium.
