Club Brugge have signed Senegal international Mbaye Diagne on-loan from Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray, with the option to buy.
The 27-year-old leaves the club a mere nine months after joining the Istanbul-based team from Kasimpasa in January.
Diagne ended the 2018/19 season at the Super Lig’s top scorer with 30 goals in just 29 league appearances; netting important goals for Galatasaray on their way to clinching league glory.
The Teranga Lions forward was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia with several clubs in England having also reportedly tracked his progress before his move to the Belgium Pro League.
Brugge boast several African stars, including South Africa’s Percy Tau who is on-loan in Belgium from Brighton and Hove Albion. Diagne’s Senegalese teammate Krepin Diatta is also contracted to the club.
The Black and Blues were on Thursday last week drawn in Uefa Champions League Group A alongside Paris-Saint Germain, Real Madrid and Galatasaray.
