Sudan caused an upset against Nigeria in the 2019 CAF Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Friday.
The Young Falcons of Jediane defeated the Dream Team 1-0 in the only qualifier which was played on the day.
Walaa El Din scored the only goal of the match which handed Sudan a 1-0 victory over Nigeria at the Al-Merrikh Stadium in Omdurman.
The Dream Team created countless goal-scoring opportunities on the night.
Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi, who is on loan at German side Mainz 05 from English giants Liverpool FC, was guilty of missing chances.
The second-leg encounter is set to take place at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba on Tuesday.
One match is scheduled to be played on Saturday with Ivory Coast taking on Guinea.
The Young Elephants of Ivory Cppast will play host to Guinea’s National Elephants at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan.
The winners on aggregate will qualify for the AFCON U23 finals which will be hosted by Egypt.
