Welcome to AfricanFootball.com for our LIVE African Stars Watch of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification (CAF) matches on Sunday, 08 September 2019.


We will be focusing on two matches which are set to start at 15h00 CAT with Tanzania taking on Burundi, while Lesotho lock horns with Ethiopia.


Line-Ups:


Tanzania: Kaseja, Nyoni, Yondani, Ramadhani, Husseini, Abubakar, Mkude, Nado, Msuva, Dilunga, Samatta.


Burundi: J. Nahimana, Nsabiyumva, Nshimirimana, Ramazani, Bigirimana, C. Amissi, Bacanamwo, Abdul Razak, Kanakimana, Berahino, M. Amissi.


Lesotho : Thabiso, Lerotholi, Makepe, Rasethuntša, Koetle, Lebokollane, Bereng, Thaba-Ntšo, Kalake, Seturumane, Toloane.


Ethiopia: Tassew, Tamene, Baye, Reshid, Tura, Panomo, Belay, Sherefa, Bekele, Gebremichael, Tafesse.


15h00 – The matches are underway.


15h10 – It remains goalless in both matches with Tanzania hosting Burundi in Dar Es Salaam, while Ethiopia are away to Lesotho in Maseru.


15h20 – Lesotho are pushing for the opening goal with the first-leg clash having ended in a 0-0 draw in Bahir Dar.


15h30 – The Burundia defence which is led by Nsabiyumva continues to frustrate the Tanzania attackers with the first-leg having ended in a 1-1 draw in Bujumbura.


15h35 – GOAL! Tanzania 1-0 Burundi. Samatta hits the back of the net to hand the hosts the lead.


15h45 – It remains goalless in the encounter between Lesotho and Ethiopia as were approach the half-time break.


15h47 – GOAL! Tanzania 1-1 Burundi. Razak scores from close range to restore parity just before half-time.


15h50 – HALF-TIME Scores: Lesotho 0-0 Ethiopia | Tanzania 1-1 Burundi.


16h00 – The second-half is underway in the encounter between Ethiopia and Lesotho.


16h10 – The game between Tanzania and Burundi has resumed with the tie locked at 2-2 on aggregate.


16h15 – GOAL! Lesotho 0-1 Ethiopia. Nkau Lerotholi scores an own goal to hand the visitors the lead.


16h20 – GOAL! Lesotho 1-1 Ethiopia. Tsepo Seturumane levels matters with a deflected free-kick.


16h30: As things stand, Ethiopia will advance to the second round of qualifying, while encounter between Tanzania and Burundi will go to extra-time.


16h40: Tanzania and Lesotho are both pushing for late goals in order to secure home victories.


16h50 – FULL-TIME: Lesotho 1-1 Ethiopia. Ethiopia advance to the second round on the away goals rule following a 1-1 draw on aggregate.


17h00 – The first-half of extra-time has started in the encounter between Tanzania and Burundi.


17h15 – It remains 1-1 on the day and the second-half of extra-time has just started.


17h30 – It is still 1-1 as we approach the end of second-half of extra-time.


17h40 – A penalty shootout will follow after the tie ended in a 2-2 draw on aggregate.


17h50 – Tanzania advance to the second round after winning 3-0 on penalties in front of their fans.
