Officials have made 10,000 tickets available for Friday’s Egyptian Super Cup clash between Cairo rivals Al Ahly and Zamalek, which will be played at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandra.
The clash is actually a meeting between the Egyptian league and cup winners from the 2018/19 season, with Ahly claiming the Premier League crown and Zamalek the Cup for the sixth time in seven seasons.
The clubs have each been allocated 5,000 tickets for the game, which will still be played under tight security, as is always the case when these two sides meet.
It will also be a chance for two new coaches of the respective teams to win some early favour with their fans, as Zamalek’s Micho Sredojevic goes up against Ahly’s René Weiler.
Ahly have won 10 Super Cup titles in the past, including the last time the trophy was contested in January 2018.
Zamalek have three titles, the last in 2016, with the only other sides to taste success being El Mokawloon (2004) and Haras El Hodood (2009).
