AfricanFootball.com takes a look at the top six performers in Europe’s top leagues from this past weekend’s round of action, from an African perspective.

It was another good weekend for the trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The African trident shared the English Premier League golden boot accolade last season, but who of the three makes our list this week? Find out here:

Sadio Mane

The Senegal international continued his strong start to the season, firing home a brace to lead Liverpool to a fifth straight win to start the league season. The Reds sit five points clear atop the standings at this early stage of he campaign, after coming from a goal down to beat Newcastle United 3-1 at Anfield on Saturday.

Serge Aurier

The Ivorian fullback returned to action in style, playing a starring role in Tottenham Hotspur’s 4-0 win over Crystal Palace. Aurier was a constant threat down the right flank and was responsible for the second goal with his strike taking a wicked deflection on it’s way into the back of the net. He would also go on to set up Heung-min Son for the club’s third on the day.

Anssumane Fati

The 16-year-old’s incredible start to his professional career at Barcelona continued this past weekend. The Guinea-Bissau born winger scored and assisted a goal within the opening seven minutes of the club’s 5-2 win over Valencia at the Camp Nou. No Lionel Messi, No Problem!

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

The Gabon international scored a first-half brace in Arsenal 2-2 draw away to Watford on Sunday. The Gunners looked sure for victory away to a struggling Hornets outfit, but a second-half implosion resulted in them leaving Vicarage Road with only a point.

Amine Harit

The Morocco international bagged a double for Schalke 04 in a 5-1 win over SC Paderborn in the German Bundesliga on Sunday. A controversial figure at the worst of times, Harit has all the capabilities to be not only a star player for the Royal Blues, but also in German’s top league as a whole.

Oussama Idrissi

The Dutch-born Moroccan winger continued his incredible start to the Eredivisie season, bagging a brace for AZ Alkmaar in a 5-1 win over Sparta Rotterdam. If he continues on this trend, a big club will come calling sooner rather than later!
