Big-spending Egyptian club Pyramids FC continued their spending spree, signing Wilfried Kanon and Amor Layouni respectively to take their transfer window deals up to 11.
Kanon, who won the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast, joins Pyramids from Dutch Eredivisie side ADO Den Haag while Layouni joins the Cairo-club from Norwegian outfit Glimt.
Born in Sweden, Layouni made his professional debut for Tunisia earlier this month, finding the back of the net in a 1-0 win over Mauritania.
“We are happy with the signing of Kanon, it was not an easy mission for us to sign him, and we are expecting a lot from him.” Mahmoud Eid, the club’s executive director said in an official statement.
All 11 players have arrived at the club since former Uganda boss Sebastien Desabre’s appointment as head coach following the Cranes exit from the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in July.
Pyramids lost 3-0 to Zamalek in the Egypt Cup final before being held to a 1-1 draw by CR Belouizdad in a Caf Confederations Cup qualifier this past weekend.
