Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard singled out Fikayo Tomori for praise following the Blues 2-1 loss to Liverpool in the English Premier League on Sunday.
The Reds made it six wins from six league matches thanks to goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Roberto Firmino. The Blues, though, held their own and were arguably the better side for most of the encounter.
Despite the loss, Lampard feels that there are plenty of positives to take from the match at Stamford Bridge.
The former Blues midfielder was especially impressed with 21-year-old Tomori.
“I want to single out Tomori for me personally,” Lampard said in his post-match press conference.
“To go up against Mohamed Salah who is lethal in every sense and deal with him for pace in the mind, the way he played, everything he did today I thought was class and they are the signs I’m looking for individually.
“I thought his performance was brilliant,” he concluded.
Tomori, who was born in Canada to Nigerian parents, moved to England at a young age.
