Mohamed Salah seems to have entered into a fresh new brawl with the Egyptian Football Association.
According to reports, the Liverpool forward has raised alarms back in Egypt of a possible withdrawal from the national team after it emerged that they failed to vote in FIFA’s The Best awards.
Salah finished fourth in the The Best Men’s Player award, behind the trio of Lionel Messi, Virgil van Dijk and Cristiano Ronaldo.
It has, though, been revealed that Pharaohs captain Ahmed Elmohamady and Olympic team coach Shawky Ghareeb did vote for Salah, but that their picks were not registered to the count by the Egyptian FA.
As if that wasn’t enough, Egyptian journalist Hany Danial reportedly voted for Salah’s Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane snd Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of the 27-year-old former Chelsea winger.
Salah, though, eased some fears of a possible early retirement , tweeting on Tuesday: ‘No matter how they try to change my love for you and your people they will not.’
In total, Salah scored 27 and assisted a further 13 in 52 appearances across all competitions for Liverpool last season.
