AfricanFootball.com takes a look at FIVE African players to keep an eye on in the French Ligue 1 and Serie A this evening.
Defending French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain continue to set the pace with a three point lead atop the standings in France. They are closely followed by Angers who jumped up to second thanks to an 11 minute hat-trick from Chad international Casimir Ninga this past weekend.
In Italy, Juventus lead the way following a narrow win over Brescia on Tuesday, followed closely by Inter who have won four out of four in the league this season.
FIVE players to watch tonight:
Victor Osimhen (Lille)
The Nigeria international is the joint top scorer in the league having netted five goals in five games this season. He will be hoping to build on his fast start at the club by firing Lille to victory over Strasbourg this evening.
Habib Diallo (FC Metz)
The Senegalese forward has been a shining light in what has been a poor start to the season for Metz in the French Ligue 1. The club has lost their last four games in succession, having accumulated four points from their opening two fixtures. Diallo will be hoping to add to his four goals in the league this season when Metz visit fellow strugglers Saint Etienne.
Hamari Traore (Stade Rennes)
The Mali international leads the assist charts from the right-back position this season. Traore has teed up three goals in six games, and will be eager to not only keep a clean sheet but to continue his attacking contribution when Rennes take on Nantes in the French Ligue 1 tonight.
Christian Kouame (Genoa)
With three goals and an assist from four games this season, the Ivory Coast forward has been Genoa’s standout player in the Serie A. He will be hoping to add to his tally when the club host Bologna later today.
Alfred Duncan (Sassuolo)
The Ghanian midfielder has directly contributed to four goals in three Serie A games this season, establishing himself as an integral part of the Sassuolo team that will face Parma in the Serie A this evening.
