Africa Cup of Nations champions Algeria have confirmed friendly matches against DR Congo and Colombia for the upcoming October international break.
The Fennec Foxes will host DRC on October 10, before a clash with South American team Colombia five days later in France, the Algeria Football Federation (FAF) announced.
“As part of the Fifa dates from 7 to 15 October 2019, the national team will face the Democratic Republic of Congo in a friendly match on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Mustapha Tchaker stadium in Blida,” FAF said in a statement.
“The Algerian Football Federation has finalised two friendly matches against DR Congo and Colombia, whose match will take place at Pierre-Mauroy stadium in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, Lille, France, on Tuesday, October 15, 2019.”
Both Algeria and DRC will be using the October friendlies as preparation for the start of their 2021 AFCON qualification campaigns.
The North Africans are in Group H alongside Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana, while the Leopards are in Group D with Gabon, Angola and a team to be determined from the upcoming preliminaries.
