Chippa United will be desperate for their first Absa Premiership win of the season when they welcome Bidvest to Sisa Dukashe Stadium on Tuesday 1 October 2019, kick-off at 19h30.


Chippa have gone seven league matches without a win in 2019/20, with their last outing a 1-0 loss away to Maritzburg United on Friday, September 27. The Chilli Boys have drawn all four of their home matches thus far in the campaign.


Wits were last in domestic action on Saturday, September 21 when they defeated Orlando Pirates 4-3 at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium. The Clever Boys’ goals were scored by Deon Hotto, Mxolisi Machupu, Cole Alexander and Phatutshedzo Nange.


In head-to-head stats, Chippa and Wits have met in 12 league matches since 2012/13. The Clever Boys have claimed five wins compared to two for the Chilli Boys, while five games have been drawn. The Eastern Cape side has recorded one win, three draws and two losses in six home matches in the rivalry.


Last season Wits completed a league ‘double’ over Chippa, winning 2-0 at the Bidvest Stadium in December 2018 and 1-0 in the return game at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in April 2019.
