Liverpool striker Sadio Mane has played down his reported bust-up with teammate Mo Salah, though he admits he has at times been left frustrated playing alongside the Egyptian.
Mane says they are firm friends, but there had been words exchanged earlier in the season as both battle for goals relative to their hugely successful 2018/19 campaign.
“I think things can happen in football. I feel a little bit frustrated because in football you want to score more goals,” he told reporters.
“You can see Man City, eight, six, seven nil. You can see it, no? So, for me and for the team it is really important for us to score as many goals as we can.
“But it can happen because he [Salah] didn’t see me and I was a bit frustrated. But we come out [of it] as really, really good friends.”
Mane and Salah have formed a deadly front-three with Brazilian Roberto Firmino, which led to the side lifting the UEFA Champions League at the end of last season.
