Captain Geoffrey Kodongbia has withdrawn from the Central African Republic squad for their friendly against Niger in Niamey on Sunday.
The match is the first since March for the ‘Fauves du bas-Oubangui’ and serves as warm-up for the start of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers next month.
CAR, who have former Cote d’Ivoire boss Francois Zahoui in charge, have been drawn in Group E of the Cup of Nations qualifiers and will begin their bid for first-ever place at the finals at home to Burundi followed by a trip to Mauritania.
Their last game was a goaless draw at home to Guinea at the end of the 2019 Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Valencia midfielder was one 18 foreign-based players named in the 24-man squad but was hurt played against Getafe last week and has withdrawn.
