South African Premier Soccer League side Black leopards have handed a trial to former Ghana international Edwin Gyimah, according to reports.

The midfielder is a free agent after leaving BidVest Wits at the end of the 2018/19 season and has struggled to find a new club, but will now be given the chance to impress new coach Luc Eymael at Leopards.

Leopards are reportedly using the FIFA international break to assess a number of players, with the 28-year-old one of them.

Gyimah has spent the last eight years in South Africa and also played for SuperSport United, Mpumalanga Black Aces, as well as having a brief spell at Swedish side Helsingborg in 2017.

He made only five appearances in the league at Wits last season, with just a single start, before being released.

The versatile Gyimah can play in defence and midfield, and has not played for the Black Stars since the 2017 Africa Cu

p of Nations finals.
