Zamalek left-back Abdallah Gomaa is confident the Egypt national team will be different under new head coach Hossam El-Badry.

The defender played an important role in helping Zamalek win last season’s CAF Confederation Cup and the Egypt Cup.

Gomaa has since been included in the Pharaohs squad by new coach El-Bady.

“I’m grateful for this opportunity and I hope I can live up to the expectations,” Gomaa told Time Sports.

“The fans will definitely see a completely different side under Hossam El-Badry.

“Of course my dream of receiving a national team call-up has been delayed,” he continued.

“But it’s a huge honour to be representing my country.”

Gomaa and his Egypt teammates are set to take on Botswana in a friendly match on Friday.
