Tottenham Hotspur will not place Serge Aurier on the transfer list despite the right-back’s inconsistent run of form.
The 26-year-old has a knack to blow hot and cold for both club and country, but despite his rollercoaster run of form, Spurs will reportedly block any transfer offers for the Ivory Coast international in January.
According to Tuttosport, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is eager to keep hold of Aurier, having let Kieran Trippier join Atletico Madrid before the start of the 2019-20 season.
Aurier has been the club’s preferred choice at right-back this season, but a poor showing in Spurs’ embarrassing 2-7 defeat at home to Bayern Munich prompted a huge backlash from the Tottenham faithful.
Pochettino started midfielder Moussa Sissoko on the right side of defence in the club’s 3-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion last time out, with Aurier suspended due to the red card he picked up against Southampton, while Kyle Walker-Peters hasn’t featured in the league since late August.
Aurier has attracted reported interest from Serie A club AC Milan.
